Community Mental Health Gyms is not endorsed by or affiliated with any of these organisations. We follow a process they all recommend.

What is a mental health gym?

A place to improve your mental health and fitness.

If you were physically ill you wouldn’t go to a gym you would go to a doctor. The same applies to mental illness.

Gyms can help prevent or recover from illness but they are not a substitute for professional medical care to treat an illness.

How it works

1. Start or join a local community

Sign up and meet others in your community with access to a private WhatsApp group chat.

2. Attend a weekly walk and talk

Communities start with a simple walk and talk event. Get to know the other people in your community and decide what other things the group will do.

3. Improve your mental wellbeing

Work with others in your community to do more to improve your wellbeing. Hold each other accountable and support your community.
