What is a mental health gym?

A place to improve your mental health and fitness.

If you were physically ill you wouldn’t go to a gym you would go to a doctor. The same applies to mental illness.

Gyms can help prevent or recover from illness but they are not a substitute for professional medical care to treat an illness.

How it works

1. Start or join a local community

Find local people like you, who want to come together to improve their mental wellbeing as part of a community.

2. Do things with your community each week

Do things with your community in the five areas of wellbeing. Choose things you want to do together from suggested activities or come up with your own.

3. Enjoy better mental wellbeing
